Dear lord, it's been so long ago since I & Beli posted here! We are so sorry ... things have been incredibly busy for us with school and since we both don't see each other that often (because we live in seperate schools) there is not that much to blog about.http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif

Oh & Beli has Skyrim. So do I need to say more?
Anyway on to the lovely rats. They did a huge sleep over at my place a while ago & recently I found these photos back. Aren't they adorable? These are all our ladies. The naked, Nuki, did died a while ago. But she's still in our heart <3

We are ALIVE

Yeah that was a surprise isn't it?!
Right now both me & my soulsister Beli are dying slowly because of our next deadlines. This wednesday we both have our pre-judges & next week we have our real judges. With saturday following our fashion show.

So right now we are both into that & we don't do that much funny things outside school or our workspace. But after our chaos we are back for some fun outside school & the following stories with photos to!

One of my rats died (Captain Candy :( ), but my mental-fiancée Belinda bought me another rat! Major Chocolat Noir is such a sweetheart & she is so so damn cute!




It's so awesome to see that my rats are with three again. And they all have such a pretty colors! I have like all the types of chocolat: white, brown & black (nom nom!).

About rats

Rats is a subject both me & Beli are totally into love with. We both own a small army (I have three beautifull ladies & Beli two) of these little funny creatures. Rats are common in the subculture we live in, but we do notice that outside 'our subculture' rats are still seen as the vermin.

Rats are indeed connected to the plague & everything related with sickness & horror of past times. And this can be true: wild rats are something you shouldn't go reckless around with (don't ever try to touch a while one. If they bite, go to the doctor!).

Pet rats are the totally opposite. They're playfull, loyal & they will love you 'till the end if you won the heart of your rat. Right now, one of my rats (Captain Candy) is sleeping on my leg while I write this blog to. They will trust you & will always tend to hang around you or inside your clothes (yez dears, inside your clothes! & seriously, there is nothing so heartwarming as a few rats sleeping in your clothes against your skin while you're doing your thing).

They're not aggresive, they can have the habit to 'defend' the territory of their cage but I never been bitten by one. They love to be hugged. They love to get as much attention as you can give & they love njommie food.

Rats are really social, so mostly they will run after you (in my case they do, until I mention 'cage' & then they will run away & hide somewhere in the room) to hang around you. Because of that it's also really important you keep two rats (of the same gender ofcourse) together. Now matter how much attention you give, you are not a rat who can do rat things.

They do tend to kill your clothes, pillows, wires & blankets. They do tend to eat so much you will not have a cent left (okay not true, but they can eat a lot), they can keep you awake at night because they're making to much noise. But even with all those things, you WILL love rats once you won their heart.

Vacantion

Yezzz it's vacantion for us! So we are finally at home for two weeks & a day (eastern monday to yez!), with the bad side that I & Belinda aren't going to see each other for a while. Normally I'm going the second week to Antwerp for all kind of things but this week I'm staying at home & I'm going to Berlin to.

My rats are (still) doing a sleepover with Belinda & I hope that they (well Gin) is going to lose some fatties. Captain is allright & as far as I heard already they're for the rest doing fine.

I'm going to do some more us-blogging related things. Things we love, things we do, things we did ... Maybe also about how we met & stuff. And more of that.

And damn: we have already 10 followers! Amaaaazing! <3 We all love you :D

Our deadlines

So we both survived our deadline of the 5th of avril. We had to show three costumes of our collection that evening & you can be sure: we where pretty death when we finally reached the judges itself.

Beli her judges was good -as usual- & she took some photos of it. I'm going to push her to upload it here so you can see her wonderfull work with her magick touch! Mine was okay, I'm not as good as Beli is & I find my love more in jewelry then clothes. I didn't took any photos (totally forgot it!).

Right now we are still both working on one of our last intern-endworks. I decided to stop, since I'm so bloody tired. Beli is still working.

Tomorrow it's 'vacantion' for us. I'm going to Berlin for four days (<3 love!) & Beli is going to take care of my little rats in the main while. In august, her rats are coming to me <3 Yeah, it's always like this. Our her rats are here or mine are there.

I got this lovely piece of heart for my 2Oth birthay from Maarten. He drawed, scanned & colored this! I'm so in love with it (and it's my background right now to!).

My army

The kids are all gone & I still miss them a lot. But it's way better, since I had a hard time combining to combine my schoolwork with taking care off 11 rats. So only my Captain, Gin & Phobia are staying with me. And it's going better then ever! I love them so much <3

The kids are doing great. I saw that they're copying what the older ones do & i'm really glad. Phobia is still to young to get children & i hoped the older ones would accept the little ones. So far, the pictures below show it's true they match together really well!

Hiding for the camera, they love this old malteser-box. They where with all 7 or 8 in this together! Think they spend the night really good ^^

I'm soo happy the kids & the older rats like each other ^^

The adoptions

The adoptions are going great! 4 of the 8 are (Skittles & Milky Way of the females & Lion & Mentos of the boys) already reservated & the 4 others are still free. Onfortunatly, my little favorite Skittles is already reservated by someone else & is not going to Belinda :( *cry cry* but i know the other owner will take care of it really good so ^^ It's not sure yet if Belinda can adopt of my nest, since she need to take 2 instead of 1 & we don't know how her dad will react ...

But two of the boys are going to Kitzen! I asked if she could take also the 3th one, so they can stay together, but we will see :) There will be another nest soon of another owner & maybe, they can be 'mixed'.

The owner of Ratito is going to take care of the rest of the little rats when they can go away from the mother (i can't keep those :( snifsnif) & she will take care of those. It's a bit ... sad to know they're going away in a week or 2. I'm nearly crying, since I love the little ones soooo much! But that's life. I can't keep those. I'm already happy they will go to a good home :)

They're online

After a while, the topic for the adoption is finally online on Ratito! I'm really glad they did it finally, there are several people asking my if they can adopt my rats, but since I had an agreement with Ratito, i had to work by their way. But there they're!

The serious people can start adopting & when they're old enough & gained enough weight, they can go to their new home :)

For some odd reason, Phobia is always trying to escape. Like she's doing here on the photos below.





But when she is finally out of the cage on her own (what rarely happends) she wants to get back as soon as possibe. If i help her a bit, she's asking for some cuddles but then, she's as fast as she can back in the cage.

Snickers & Milky Way

They're like twins aren't they? ^^ These are two of the kids from Phobia. And the other ones ofcourse to :) Named those two Snickers & Milky Way.

How it all started

Having rats was something i wanted since i was a child. I did had a lot of animals (going from fishes to chickens, rabbits, birds, hamsters, ... ) but never a rat. Because 'they where dirty'. I did asked it several times, but the answer was always a NO.

Until, around the end of 2009 & the beginning of 2010, someone i know had to give her rat away. I, animallover as always, said i would adopt her until we found a house. Not much later, i convinced my houseboss & then, when it took the rat home even my parents fell in love with her.

Nezumi-Chan (or Nezumi or just Zumi) was my first rat & still my biggest love. I didn't had her long, she died in july. But in the few months i had her, she was in my heart. After a lot of problems, she had cancer (again), did an operation, had problems with the stiches, ...
But also really great moments (going to scare make-up whore off & helping people to get over the phobia for rats & modeling with Porcelain and starring in videos) that make Nezumi just Nezumi as she was.

Rats are one of the most amazing creatures to have as pets and friends. I can tell you that.
